E-Safety

E-Safety at Wheatley

We are committed to the use of computer technologies and recognise access to the internet as a valuable tool for learners of all ages. The internet is increasingly providing the focal point of educational content within the UK. However, we recognise that computers and the internet do have the potential for inappropriate use and access to undesirable material and that we have a duty of care to protect our pupils.

We are clear that all pupils should use computer facilities, including the internet, as an essential part of the planned curriculum and as a natural part of the modern learning opportunities within our school. As a school we will educate our pupils about E-safety issues; teaching them the appropriate behaviours and critical thinking skills to enable them to remain both safe and legal when using the internet and related technologies in and beyond the context of the classroom.
