Welcome to Year 6!
Our teachers are Mrs Blake and Mrs Pinkney
This is increasingly important in Year 6. Please support your child in this area, as it makes a huge difference to their learning and attitude when this happens. If your child cannot access the internet at home please do write us a not to let us know, we can make provision in this case for them to complete the work at school.
PE - Tuesday and Friday
Please ensure you have a labelled PE kit (white T-shirt, navy/black shorts or tracksuit bottoms, change of jumper, sports trainers) in school all week as our days do change. Earrings must be removed and long hair tied up.
Guitar - Has changed to a Monday as of January
Please ensure your child has their guitar in school every Monday so they do not miss out on their lesson.
Junior Maths Challenge
Back in April, some of the Year 6's took part in this year's UKMT Junior Maths Challenge run by Leeds University and we've just got the results through. Over 260,000 pupils from across the UK sat the JMC and the top 40% were awarded certificates. Well done to all the children who took part and especially to Denis Blagonski, Elliot Hughes-Williams, Brendon Bone and Io Twycross who all received bronze certificates, a fantastic achievement considering the challenge is actually aimed at children in Year's 7 and 8.
This is a sample question from this year's JMC, can you work it out?
"Max scored a goal half way through the second quarter of a teachers-vs-pupils netball match. At that point, what fraction of the whole match remained to be played? A = 1/4, B = 3/8, C = 1/2, D = 5/8, E = 3/4"
Look at everything we've got planned:
We did so many exciting things:
