This term we are exploring the world of Roald Dahl.

It was amazing to see the creative projects many of you made over half-term! We had dream jars, Oompa Loompas, marvellous medcines, golden tickets, and more!

In term 1 our topic was Champions!

We talked about our personal champions before looking at the champions of the Ancient Greeks. Have a look at what we got up to.

Homework

It is inreasingly important in year 5 that the children complete their homework each week. Please support your child in this area as it makes a huge difference to their learning and attitude when this happens. If your child cannot access the internet at home please do write us a note to let us know, we can make provision in this case for them to complete the work at school. All homework is due in on a Monday.

Matheltics

• Your child will be set 5 tasks each week that link to their learning in school.

Reading

• Please continue to hear your child read regularly, even if they are a 'fluent' reader. Children should be reading at least 5 times a week and completing their reading record.

Grammar

• One online spag quiz set each week. This will be either revision or link to a skill we have recently learned.

Spelling

• Your child will bring home a spelling list each week. The spellings will link to their work in school. Please help them to learn the spellings by practising with them.
