Local Governing Body and committee meetings
LGB meetings take place six times a year and include all governors. The minutes of the previous meeting are approved at each meeting and a copy filed available through the school office. We are keen that parents receive as much information as possible about what the governors are doing. Obviously some aspects of the LGB's business contain confidential (specific pupil, financial or HR information) so, in such cases, the discussion will be recorded separately as confidential minutes.
Our three main sub-committees, Christian Distinctiveness, Education and Resources, are where much of the detailed discussion takes place. These meet across the year, scheduled to coincide with data points in the school assessment cycle, budget approval dates etc, and provide reports to the LGB with recommendations. Our Christian Distinctiveness committee's role is to focus on how the Christian values stemming from our CofE foundation permeate all aspects of the school and its community. Minutes of the sub-committees are available through the school office, but much of the discussion is confidential in nature.
We also have a Pay and an Admissions committee, which meet annually.
We are in the process of gathering diversity information on the governing body. Due to the relatively small number of individuals, and mindful of the Equality Act 2010 and guideance on data protection in schools, much of the diversity information will not be published online, however more information can be made available upon request to the school office.
Our gender balance across the whole governing body is currently 70% female, 30% male and we have a good spread of age representation between the 35-39 to the 70-74 age brackets.
