Caretaker

 

Wheatley CE Primary School is situated on the Littleworth Road adjacent to the beautiful Shotover Park. In June this year, our school was rated Good in every area by Ofsted.

 

We are looking for a dedicated, proactive and committed caretaker to join our dedicated team and manage the maintenance and upkeep of the school. This post will involve an exciting opportunity for flexible, practically minded person with recognisable DIY skills, common sense and the ability to work on their own initiative. The successful candidate would need to take pride in their work, have a good sense of humour and work well as part of our outstanding school team. We are ideally looking for someone who may have trade skills or school site experience. 

 

This post will be 37 hours per week over a split shift. There would be some flexibility needed to cover emergency call outs and letting of the school hall out of school hours. 

 

The job would involve:

  • Maintenance of the school site including some basic ground upkeep: keeping the school safe, presentable free litter and debris
  • Health and Safety checks
  • Site security
  • Small repair works/maintenance making safe the fabric of the building
  • Minor refurbishment and redecoration
  • Porterage of stock, furniture, equipment and other items within the school building
  • Reporting of repairs or maintenance issues
  • To oversee work being carried out on the premises by external contractors
  • Some cleaning duties, and janitoral duties
  • Stocktaking

 

There is a possibility of subsided accommodation on site available to this post holder. Further details can be provided.

Class Teacher 

 

Required from April 2020, the governors, Co-Headteachers and pupils seek to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic teacher to join our good school and teach a KS1 class full time. This is a fixed term post for the summer term in the first instance. The post is open NQTs and experienced teachers. Part time applications/ job shares will be considered.

 

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • is passionate about providing engaging and exciting learning opportunities to enable all pupils to thrive.
  • is a reflective practitioner with high aspirations for all pupils.
  • has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and will work closely and collaborate effectively with staff and parents.
  • has strong behaviour management skills and a pro-active approach to supporting pupil well-being.
