Throughout the learning journey, we highlight the importance of identifying the audience and purpose for writing. We ask the questions:
Why are we writing?
Who are we writing for?
How do we want the reader to feel?
What message is this text going to give?
These questions, along with others, enable us to secure published outcomes that are purposeful and appropriately linked to our quality texts. This might be in a book, for the classroom or the library or for a wider audience (including national publications), it might be for display in a variety of ways, or it might be on a blog or the school website, or it might be read to an audience, of different age children, a parent group or even a group of teddies!
This gives our children excitement, purpose and pride in their writing which translates across the school and to our parents.
